Invisible Dialogues
25.04.16 13.05.16
Bruna Pastorini is visual artist and publicist. While the latter is an important part in her life, it is not enough to outshine her passion for art, her desire of creation and expression. This was Brunas’s first experience of artistic residency, and we were very happy to welcome an emerging artist and have the opportunity to join her in such an important moment.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The work of Bruna Pastorini intends to reflect human feelings and human emotions in their essence. The artist wants to create invisible dialogues between her and the viewer, and she seeks inspiration from their emotions to compose her works so others can identify and see in the artist’s work their feelings too. Without saying a word to the viewer, they both can connect and dialogue through what is being said and exposed at the painting.
The artist is interested –through the art– in how people are able to expose and indirectly admit your weaknesses, fears and their deepest feelings. A person would not speak openly about the fear of loneliness, for example. But a person can admit that is identified or has been touched by a work that reflects loneliness. By doing so, that person is exposing indirectly that identifies with that fear. The viewers end, thus, exposing themselves too as the artist.
Pastorini’s paintings show characters that expose feelings or are in situations which only humans can be: in anxiety, feeling hope, solitude, tranquility, love, among others emotions.

Visions was a special ´aceNITE, in which we focused on contemporary graphics from the production of various national and international artists.
In the Políglota Room we presented works from the series (Re) Read by Beth Grabowski (USA), artist in residency during April-May 2016. In the Central Hall, Dialogue Space and Transversal Space, the works of 11 Argentinean artists were exhibited, who were invited to a group exhibition to homage Grabowski. In the Workshop, Flora Hubot (Belgium) and in La Torre, Bruna Pastorini (Brazil) showed the work produced during their respective residences in recent months in ´ace as an Open Studio.
A night in which the artists could, in addition to showing their work, dialogue with each other and with the community of Buenos Aires that visited us.
