Recently graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Colorado Springs, Hans Wendel did a production residency on the SUB30 emerging artist program.
Before beginning his residence in ´ace Hans traveled through various provinces of Argentina, during those trips he documented and drew his impressions in a sketchbook that were the basis for his production as a resident.
In the ´ace workshop he began a series of works in photolithography with the challenge of taking his usual work to another scale. During his work he was also interested in knowing and investigating more deeply about monotypes, which are not alien to him since he has worked at the Bemis School of Art in Colorado, teaching this technique. He also carried out a series of experiments with chine collé.

After the SUB30 residency that Hans Wendel carried out for three weeks in the ´ace workshops, the exhibition with the production of the young American artist was inaugurated in the Transversal Space.
At the exhibition, Wendel displayed his work allowing himself a playful montage of his works, almost as an installation. The set of prints made on paper acquired an even greater scale when exhibited in a non-traditional way.
On the night of the inauguration, he was also able to display in the workshop space a set of works in which the work process could be appreciated. The guests and Wendel thus had the opportunity to discuss their experience and work.

On Wednesday May 12 the first ´aceNITE of the year took place. The artists in residence Julia Fernandez-Pol & Hans Wendel showed their work to the community.
At the Políglota Room was exhibited Languages by Julia Fernandez-Pol and on the Transverse Space Hans Wendel showed The Salmon. During the event the musician and composer Nacho García performed new works of his own.
We wnat to thank everybody for sharing this moment with our young residents and congratulations to the winners of the art works!
