Alex Gray received a BA in Graphic Design with a minor in Fine Art, and have self-studied illustration, screen printing, and fibers. Raised in a low-income household, the artist found in fibers, printmaking, and graphic design not only a language but a future.
Her work centers printed and mixed media, including risograph, screen-printing, collage, and textiles. She was selected to speak at GROW with AIGA: a Conference for Emerging Designers (2020), exhibited in a juried student show, and in 2024 showed work at Portland’s SOHO House through the Creative Futures mentorship program.
Her work was featured in Butter Magazine (2024) and The Oregonian (2025). Since 2022, she has run GNDR SHREDR, a design and printmaking brand, and in 2025 launched low-cost community art workshops funded by Awesome Foundation grant. She recently was awarded a grant from the Multnomah & Clackamas Counties Arts Council.
