A writer and filmmaker from the United Kingdom, Ahu Aydin holds a degree in Physics from the University of Cambridge, where she received the Douglas Adams Short Story Prize. She later studied documentary filmmaking at University College London, and her first short film, Sucker, was screened at Raindance Film Festival’s Open Shorts Night and by Goldsmiths University’s Feminist Duration Reading Group. Her fiction has been published in Apogee Journal and Vol. 1 Brooklyn. Since 2021, she has collaborated with filmmaker Azra Deniz Okyay as a translator and script supervisor.

Her literary practice explores the relationship between memory, place, and human connection. Through a poetic and understated style, she examines how landscapes and urban environments shape personal experience while addressing themes of care, responsibility, mental health, and the complex expectations surrounding success.

During her Micro-residency at Proyecto´ace, Aydin focused on developing her first novel. Inspired by the literary legacy of Jorge Luis Borges and the atmosphere of Buenos Aires, she embraced the opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary community of visual artists, allowing their diverse perspectives on image, space, and perception to inform and enrich her writing.
