To Leave Space for your own Voice
Duarte & Rosende
17.12.25 27.02.26
Invited to close out 2025, the year of our 20th anniversary, the collective formed by Nerina Rosende & Isabel Duarte occupied the two billboards available within this new project of site-specific interventions. These two Argentine artists worked with the superimposition of layers, both visual and sonic, producing a choral piece that operated by adding senses to form the totality of their intervention.
ARTISTS’ STATEMENT
Leaving space for one’s own voice is proposed as a passing of the baton between artistic practices, a gesture of continuity and listening. It is part of the rescue of previous actions and the persistence of that other voice—the one that precedes, accompanies, and resonates—as a way of connecting, mixing, residing, and inhabiting. The project proposes to construct ourselves as a common space from which to compose new affective alliances and collectively imagine other ways of being. In dialogue with Eduardo Cariglino’s augmented reality intervention, this instance closes a cycle that celebrates twenty years of ´ace, condensing memories, practices, and affections.
The work is configured from the sum of phrases by each invited artist, giving shape to a communal piece conceived as a graphic-sound drift of the experience of having inhabited a shared time and space within the ace residences. A sounding board of voices, bodies, words, and texts that enabled the unfolding of the sonic, sensory, and poetic power of language born of a shared time. A polyphony of voices.
