11.07.2011 to 24.07.2011

"Illustrated" is part of a project begun in 2008 which is part of our mission to give visibility to the Argentine and Latin American artists and to promote both crossings with artists in residence at ´ace and between different artistic practices.
From this year the format also includes a dialogue with the artist invited to exhibit at the "Dialogue Space" (Mezzanine). So it was with the previous edition "Pinhole" in which the work of the artist in residence Jackie MacRae (a series of pinhole photographs printed on metal) dialogue with the work of artists from Argentina and Peru in the central hall. In these cases, having caused a shift in the scale and the environment in which we normally see these works.
In previous open calls ("More than a thousand", "Buenos Aires 2.0", "Among Islands", "Video artists", "Bidimensionario", "Pinhole") we received a lot of proposals for illustrators so we decided to make a specific open call for this discipline that will also investigate the relation with other areas like comic, design, graffiti, etc.
The selected artists will participate with their works in digital format in ´ace nite on Wednesday August 10th, together with the exhibitions of the artists in residence Ayanah Moor (USA) and Alexandra Carter (USA).
