Arm/Leg Quilt Project

15.07.2019 to 27.09.2019

Arm/Leg Quilt Project

Using a mix of medias including silkscreen, sewing and fabrics I am interested in creating pieces that will function as wall hangings and potentially as sculptures.

During this project I am looking to use found images, mainly arms and legs, from magazines in conjunction with found fabrics to create quilt-like wall hangings that speak to broad topics I am interested in.
 These topics include:
-the home, as seen through the domestic act of sewing and quilt making
-human relationships, created through the physical connecting of limbs in the pieces
-advertising and it's connection to forming society
-death, as I feel the pieces will have a memorial-like quality
I would like these topics to connect and intersect in the pieces I make, creating a dialogue on my view of life.
